As the Burrito Burns

Step into the surrealishious and amazing world of Mexico as told through the eyes and mind of a teacher who has spent the past 20 years living in the coastal city of Puerto Vallarta. A wide range of experiences stretching from the serious to the sublime: living, working, marrying, birthing, teaching, eating, drinking, frolicking and fraternizing and so much more. There is so much to see and do, to tell and be told the list never gets old here at "As the Burrito Burns."

General Musings.

I have a thing about all these people on the television these days saying, "it was amazing!" and "totally awesome," "actually," and "absolutely!" Everyone seems to be spouting the same phrases and it's really getting on my nerves. Why can't anyone use an adjective other than amazing? Has no one ever heard of a thesaurus? If not, they need to get one before it's too late! I purposely try not and use those particular words/phrases because they are so over used in the popular culture. Some may think it's hip to say "amazing" but I think it just demonstrates a stunted vocabulary and penchant for lemming-like verbal mimicry. Let's try and be more original and broaden our laundry list of pat responses and dump the parrot mentality. Wouldn't conversation be more interesting without all the "absolutleys"? Most assuredly! I wish some of those talking heads would break out that thesaurus and wrap the incredibly versatile English language around their tongues, savor it and then use it. It's such a lyrical language and it deserves better.
